UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam (CSE) Syllabus Pattern 2015

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts civil services examination for posting officers n various civil service organizations. This year also UPSC is going to conduct CSE preliminary examination on 23rd August 2015. UPSC has been inviting online applications from interested and eligible candidates for Civil services preliminary examination 2015. Lakhs of candidates are interested to apply for this exam. Based on the score obtained in preliminary examination some candidates got eligibility to appear in mains examination. So, all candidates must have to score minimum qualifying marks in CSE prelims exams. First of all candidates are required to know syllabus and pattern of examination to start the preparation.

Scheme of UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2015:

UPSC preliminary exam for civil services exam has comprises into two papers. Both papers will be of objective type multiple choice e questions. Each paper carries 200 marks and this exam is called also screening exam. candidates are required to score minimum 33% marks (minimum 144 marks) to qualify for mains exam. each paper have 2 hours duration for completing exam and syllabus and important topics for each papers is given below.

UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2015 paper I syllabus:

Syllabus of Paper I: (General Studies)

Maximum Marks: 200

Time period: 120 minutes

Important Topics: Current events of national and international importance, History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World, Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayat Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc., Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc., General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization General Science.

UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2015 paper II syllabus:

Syllabus of Paper I: (Aptitude Test)

Maximum Marks: 200

Time period: 120 minutes

Important Topics: Comprehension, Interpersonal skills including communication skills, Logical reasoning and analytical ability, Decision-making and problem solving, General mental ability, Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level) and etc.

Paper I is only screening test and paper II is qualifying test to sit in Mains exam. Candidates are required to score minimum 33% marks in Paper II to qualify. But candidates must have to appear in both papers of preliminary examination for the purpose of evaluation. Good luck friends.
