Kolkata Police Recruitment Board (KPRB) has released a notification for filling up vast number of constable posts. Here we are providing syllabus and pattern for Kolkata Police Constable Exam. Candidates who have applied for constable posts in West Bengal will be selected based on the performance in Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test, Interview, Medical Examination, Verification of Character and Antecedents and Training. Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

Male General GORKHA, GARWALI, RAJBANSI and ST
Minimum Height 167 cms. 160 cms.
Minimum Chest 78 cms. with minimum expansion of 5 cms. by inhalation. 76 cms. with minimum expansion of 5 cms. by inhalation.
Minimum Weight Proportionate to height as per medical standard. Proportionate to height as per medical standard.

Famale General GORKHA, GARWALI, RAJBANSI and ST
Minimum Height 160 cms. 152 cms.
Minimum Weight Proportionate to height as per medical standard. Proportionate to height as per medical standard.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

For the post of Constable: 1600 metres Run to be completed within 06 minutes and 30 seconds.

For the post of Lady Constable: 400 metres Run to be completed within 02 minutes.

Written Test:

Candidates who have qualified in PMT and PET will be considered for written test. Kolkata Police Constable written test will have objective type questions on Current Affairs, General Knowledge, General English, Elementary Mathematics and Analytical Aptitude in multiple choice answer system. 60 minutes time period to complete the examination of maximum marks 90. There is a negative marking for wrong answers and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. KPRB Constable Exam cut off marks will be decided by board based on some factors such as vacancies, categories and other.

Interview:

Interview is conducted for who qualify in written test. And 10 marks will be given for interview. After the interview a Merit List of provisionally selected candidates will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in ‘Written Test’ and ‘Interview’.
